March 2014

The month of the slacker.

We spent a weekend pet/house-sitting in Cache Valley, and we were able to meet up with one of Paul's mission companions. They haven't seen each other in probably four years, and we somehow missed documenting that. Enjoy this picture instead.

I guess they're working out?

The next weekend I was able to go to Rexburg to watch my nieces' and nephews' ballroom competition.

Me, Mom, Dad, Jayme, Steve
Garrison, Max
My butt was super sore by the end of the competition, but it was so fun. I haven't been to a dance competition since I was in high school, and I have never been to one as a spectator. I do miss dance, a ton, but it was still very satisfying to sit and watch. Each of my nieces and nephews performed multiple team dances the first day, and were very busy the next day. They did a great job!

Here is a video of my youngest nephew's team:

My oldest niece also performed cabaret for the first time, and she did a great job.

After the competition we hosted a little bbq at our house and had my parents, the Smiths, Garrison, and his friend there. It was so fun to have the group there.

I'm pretty sure other things happened this month, but I didn't document, and it was kind of a blur. The last thing I will share is my haircut. Talk about a change.

September 2013

I figured I better do my monthly wrap-up a little early since the next time I blog it will be about a certain chap turning one and will probably be overwhelmed with pictures and videos.

First: Sprout's First Haircut! Not really, though. He had a ton of hair when he was born and has had several trims to try and keep it all tidy. It was finally time to cut it all down.

We have gone from this...

...to this.

(Please take note of how many times it took to get a shot where I could actually catch the haircut.)

He's been playing hard lately (very much in an 'in-and-out' phase right now) and whenever I check on him in his crib he almost always looks as though he passed out rather than fell asleep.

Fall is here in Idaho. The weather has been fantastic and there's that wonderful fall smell in the air. I don't normally get too into decorations because I have nowhere to store the stuff, but I'm so much in the fall spirit that I had to do a little something.

Sprout has been able to spend some time with Dad.

And, lastly, just because

Minor Change

This minor change which has occurred means that Mr. Mitchell will find less hair in the shower and on the bathroom floor and in his bed and on his couch and in his coats. It also means that I will save about 30 minutes everyday trying to keep up with my hair.

(If you haven't figured out the minor change, I just don't know what to do with you.)

I don't care for how I look with short hair, but it was a necessity at this point. Plus, it feels nice.
