Mitchell Munchkin Catch-up

This is just going to be a compilation of pictures of my darling kiddos from the past couple of months. I have had a few family members tell me that they love the blog so that they can be in the loop of our family happenings since we don't live by any family to share these moments with. I am so glad to hear that people are enjoying these since they are somewhat time consuming, and I am glad to look back on old posts and have a family journal to jog my memories.

I haven't posted any pictures since mid-March so I'll start from that point.

Sprout went through a phase of feeling the need to constantly kiss his sister.

Sprout has had an interest in his daddy's shoes for quite some time, and then one day he suddenly had an interest in my heels. He actually did really well.

Easter happened while we were crashing with Grandma and Grandpa Holdaway. We colored eggs and did an egg hunt. Grandpa Holdaway brought out the electric train he bought for Christmas since we missed it, but it had to be put away pretty quickly because a certain gentleman was being too rough with it (hint: it wasn't Grandpa).

Then Daddy did a little photo-shoot of his little mini-me. I'm sharing my two favorites:

Sprout and Gunnar are quite a pair. They have a love-hate relationship. Most of the love comes when there is food involved.

I took Sprout to JumpTime in Meridian and he had a blast. He probably would have stayed all day with complete enthusiasm. Little Lady just slept.

For fun my mom and I took more pictures of Little Lady in the blessing dress. At this point she was about the same age I was when I was blessed in that dress. It was fun to see how much she looks the way I did at that age.

Little Lady is still very strong, and she works out regularly. Here she is doing her floor workout series.

Grandma and Grandpa Holdaway said they were sad to see us go when our rental opened up, but I don't know if I believe them. Now they don't have constant trip hazards, no one's terrorizing their dog, no one's throwing temper tantrums (I hope), etc. We are very blessed to have family help take care of us and are so grateful we had a place to go when our first rental after the move didn't work.

Mr. Mitchell was sent out on a work assignment on Mother's Day so he missed that and our 5 year anniversary. Boo. We will celebrate sometime in the future when things have calmed down, so, maybe next year? He did send a beautiful bouquet on our anniversary. I celebrated with my children. My wedding anniversary is also the birth of my family. So, we had cupcakes (which looked better before Sprout knocked them over) and sparkling cider to celebrate our family being 5 years old. Sprout was a big fan of the cupcakes.

If you made it all the way through I'm guessing you love my children, and that means I probably love you.

Anniversary #3!

Yesterday marked our three-year anniversary. It was a little different this year. I was able to get work off for the night, but Mr. Mitchell had to be in Idaho Falls all day for required classes so that he can be ready to go out on fires. Consequently, we split the event's celebrations into two different days.

Saturday we drove to Logan, UT to do sealings in the temple there while my sister's family played with C.G. We are going to try and do sealings on every anniversary because we want to help other couples and families have the blessing and joy of being families for eternity. Mr. Mitchell and I are not just together until 'death do us part.' We're together forever; it's a huge deal, and we want everyone to have it.

The temple was very busy with weddings. It was so fun to see all of the beautiful brides and the couples having their pictures taken. We found an opportunity to get our picture taken without someone else in it and we snatched it!

Afterwards we went to The Crepery because I had been craving it since I went there with my sister in February. Afterwards, we spent some time with the Smiths and then we had to head back so that I could be to work on time.

Yesterday, I got three balloons (one for each year, and in our wedding colors) and tied a candy bar to each one with a favorite memory (or perhaps a few!) from each year attached. I had them waiting in the bedroom with a bottle of sparking cider. Mr. Mitchell came home with a beautiful bouquet that looked almost like my wedding bouquet, and he even meant to do it! Super cool. We had a lovely evening together complete with dinner from Texas Roadhouse.

Our 2nd Anniversary

It's for reals. We've been married for two years, and we've really enjoyed them. There have been a few fights, but not enough to make us sigh in relief that the supposed hardest years of marriage are behind us. We recognize, however, that making it two years these days can be considered quite a feat, and for that we are proud of this accomplishment. We celebrated the occasion by taking a little drive to the coast and spending our anniversary weekend there.

We started the weekend by camping in the Jedediah Smith campground in the redwood forest. It was beautiful, and I was completely in awe of how dark it was at night. The trees are so tall they block out any light (i.e. the moon) that would otherwise have helped illuminate the campground.

By the way, this campground was highly expensive and they don't let you gather firewood. You've been warned. Oh, and they also have the swankiest bathroom I have ever been in at a campground. No outhouses there.

 After camping we went to Crescent City, CA where we stayed in a beach house. It was right across the road from the beach and had a beautiful view of the ocean. It's not really a part of the coast where you can go play in the ocean, but the scenery is very dramatic and beautiful and you can go on very nice walks.

 We decided last year on our anniversary that we want to do temple sealings every year during our anniversary week/weekend to help bring others the happiness of eternal marriages and families. This year we remembered our camera and were able to document.
